My Spring Reading List
Well, here it is, my reading intentions for this spring! I have started a couple of them, and many of the rest are books that I’ve had for awhile but haven’t read. This is a little intimidating, but I guess that’s why it’s a challenge!
Nonfiction:
Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule
The Secret Life of Houdini by William Kalush and Larry Sloman
Fiction:
The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett
Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke
Dead Souls by Nikolai Gogol
Christian:
Girl Meets God by Lauren Winner
Journey of Desire by John Eldredge
A few of these books have quite a lot of pages within their covers, and on top of book club books I’m not sure how this is going to go, but it will be fun either way. If you’ve read any of these books I’d love to hear your thoughts.

The books on your list are all new to me, but I’ve seen Girl Meets God several times today, and I LOVE John Elderedge! Can’t wait to read your reviews!

oooo, the Maltese Falcon….I might need to add that to my list for the year. A few have had Girl Meets God on their lists. I can’t wait for the reviews.

I haven’t read any of those but The Secret Life of Houdini is calling my name. I’ll have to add that to my ever growing tbr list!

I read Jonathan Strange last year. I enjoyed it but it was loooong. I had to read it quick too b/c it was from the library.

Thanks for stopping over & letting me know about the Nicholas Sparks books! I had such a hard time choosing between the books and I chose The Notebook because I liked the movie better. I might have to go back and change that now! =)

I read another book (a juvie bio) called Escape, about Houdini, earlier this year. It was really interesting.

Sounds like a great list! I enjoy reading Ann Rule’s books. (Actually “enjoy” seems like the wrong word to use…)

I’ve read both Girl Meets God and Journey of Desire. (Did I give that to you Kathleen?) I think you will really enjoy both of the books. I’ll be interested to hear what you think.

What an impressive list! A friend of mind is reading Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell — in fact, she’s been reading it for MONTHS! She reads other books between chapters because she says it tires her out to get through all the hithers and thithers.

I really liked Jonathan Strange, but it is definitely a challenging book! I loved the fantastical imagery and it’s a great work of alternate history. Hope you enjoy!

I’ve read The Maltese Falcon every summer for three years now. I bought it for a nickel at the Goodwill store and left it at the cabin. One of the best books I’ve read. The movie? Just as good.
